Today’s mood artist: Kiki Smith

Graphic artist and sculptor from New Jersey whose works look as if they came from the children’s dreams of the Brothers Grimm.

Many of her works look like a protest against taboos, but in general it is a mix of physicality, femininity, purity, pseudo-medieval imagery and allusions to traditional cultural images, such as a Red Cap and Alice. She is one of those artists who exist in their own aesthetics and translates it into their artifacts. in them it is meaningless to seek immediate symbolism, but it is very convenient to consider them from the point of view of psychoanalysis and feminism.
